Oaths & Swearing of Documents
There are various documents which need to be sworn on oath before a suitable Notary or Solicitor, for example, an affidavit.
The process of swearing a document involves you signing it using your usual signature then with a Bible in your right hand you repeat some words which affirm that the contents of the document are true. If you are not of the Christian faith you can simply “affirm” that they are true rather than swear on the Bible.
Woodgate and Company’s standard fee for swearing oaths is £5.00 per document and £2.00 per exhibit.
